Domination is a digital adaptation of the timeless Risk board game, offering players a chance to engage in global conquest from their Windows PC. Built on the Java platform, this open-source title preserves the core mechanics of its board game inspiration while bringing tactical warfare to online and local multiplayer sessions.

User Interface and Accessibility

The interface is straightforward, with tabs placed prominently for accessing key information such as Land Ownership, Border Threats, Card Holdings, and Troop Strength. The design prioritizes function over flash, making essential details readily available, although shifting between tabs can interrupt gameplay flow. While the overall visuals remain simple by modern standards, their clarity aids in learning the game’s structure and pace.

Gameplay and Features

At its heart, Domination tasks players with strategic placement and movement of armies, vying for world domination by conquering territories and continents. Up to six players can participate in a single match, facing off against each other or AI opponents. The game supports local hotseat play, networked matches, and even remote multiplayer by running a server for friends to join.
